Internet Marketing
What to do with the namecards you get after an unsuccessful sales pitch?

Ever went for a sales pitch only to find your potential customer:

- Not able to buy because he just ordered from your competitor for this year already?

- Not convinced about your capabilities or strengths?

- Not able to switch to you because he is not the decision-maker?

Well, Rome is never built in a day, my friend. And if they say "NO" to you today, it doesn't mean saying no to you forever. Instead of throwing away the namecard of the person you met or storing it away forever in the "NOT SUCCESSFUL" namecard box, try the power of e-newsletter marketing.

First, ask for permission to put the person's name on your email list.

Enter the name and email address of the person in your e-newsletter system (if you do not know what this means, visit http://www.icontact.com ). If you do this consistently enough, you should get a list of "ever met" potential clients which you can email to them once every month to communicate and remind them about your services and products.

E-newsletters marketing system?  What's wrong with the email I used to broadcast e-newsletters to potential clients now. Isn't it just as effective?

No, if you use a simple email to attach a message file for broadcasting to your audience of say 100 people, your message will be caught as a SPAM message. You would think everyone is reading your e-newsletter, but in reality, nobody (almost) is. This is because STMP mail is not suitable for sending one-to-many type emails. The larger the number, the harder it is for SMTP mails to get pass server anti-spam settings.

Good e-newsletter systems allow you to track the number of people opening your emails and how many times they opened it. From this information, you can be aware of how interested they are in your products. Good e-newsletter systems also allow html messages - meaning you can design your e-newletter complete with corporate graphics and photos - making your e-newsletter so much more attractive to the reader. Lastly, readers can unsubscribe from your e-newsletter, making your broadcast an acceptable exercise in the eyes of corporate servers who have the right to block spams.

Write a sales pitch e-newsletter once every month focussing on your successes in the market and the customers you work with, and you will be so surprised when you receive a call one day from one of these "not successful" potentials asking you for a sales presentation meeting.
